Couple days ago i got a problem with my Sublime Text 3 scrolling, it too laggy, moreover if it open quite long files (like more than 1000 lines). I suspect it is caused by the graphics driver, because I just install Nvidia GTX 750Ti to my computer. I didn’t experienced laggy scrolling when still using integrated intel graphics come from Intel i3 6100 Skylake series. I tried couple different driver available from the Ubuntu Additional Driver setting, but still no luck. It seem better when using X.Org Nouveau opensource driver, but the problem is I cannot run Genimotion for running android virtual device when using the X.Org driver.
After looking around the internet, finally i found the trick, it has something to do with Sublime Text “scroll_speed” setting. You can change it from Preferences -> Setting. You can change the Default Setting or User Setting, but I prefer to change it from User Setting, since I can directly edit the Default Setting from Sublime Text, maybe it will work when open Sublime Text as root, or open with another editor, but I was just too lazy to try. So i choose to just edit the User Setting. I just need to add “scroll_speed” setting to the JSON formatted configs, and set it to 0.
After save the user config file. You need restart Sublime Text, and the laggy scrolling should be gone, and you’r good to go. That’s it, I hope this post will be useful.
